LORD TEACH US TO PRAY. LUKE 11:1
“And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
What a glorious desire! This disciple approached the master with a very humble request, “Lord teach us to pray”. This disciple did not request to be taught how to perform miracles. He did not ask the master to teach them how to heal the sick, or raise the dead, or turn water into wine, no! He asked the master to teach them to pray. Why?
They noted something important in our Lord’s life. They wanted to know how to tap this power. After prayers, things were happening! This disciple, After following Christ in His ministry, he realized Jesus would spent most of his early morning hours in prayers. After praying, Jesus would later in the day go to market places and would speak up miracles. Infact, even raising Lazarus, he was so specific his prayer was for the crowd to believe that he was God sent. (John 11:41,42)
“Lord teach us to pray” should be our prayer. Prayers is the answer to all that we need from the father. It is neither the duration we spent in prayers nor how eloquent we might be in it but the strature of our hearts. Go ahead and pray those few minutes and you will realize the change that will be effected. If you cant pray ten minutes, go ahead and pray those few minutes you are able to. Just pray. Ask the Lord today “Lord, teach me to pray, Amen”.
